Hello,

i think this could be very interesting. I own a Dell Axim X50v. Many people own this device. And almost everybody likes 3D Games. Unfortunately there are not so many 3D games...what to do now? Waiting until more 3D VGA games come out? Well, yes, but what would you say if i gave you a tip how to make 11 games from OmniGSoft that run in Fullscreen QGVA, VGA? Fullscreen for sure. You'd like it? Well decide for yourself.

This is just fortune that i found it out and was not a special project.

What you need to make OmniGSoft's QVGA games, VGA ones:

1. A PPC with VGA
2. An OmniGSoft game (except Ten Pin Bowling, i'll explain that later)
3. The little nifty program SE_VGA (could work with oz_VGA too but it's not tested wether the vga trick works with that program or not)

And here's how to do it:
1. Get your PPC, and make sure you have a OmniGSoft game that you liked to play in VGA (again, this doesn't work with "Ten Pin Bowling")
2. Open the program SE_VGA and choose the "real vga" mode
3. Then do the soft reset it wants to do
4. After the soft-reset open your OmniGSoft game and swith off "Fast Video Refresh" in the Settings/Options
5. Play the game, and be amazed because a game that played in QVGA plays now in VGA but still at fullscreen.

I hope you like it!

I'd like if Admins could make this topic a sticky one because not only OmniGSoft games work now in VGA, but also (perhaps some of you remember this game) "Jellyfish from Outerspace" from the OpenGl ES contest. But it lags extremly.

Additional tips:
1. 624 mhz recommended
2. X50v highly recommended because you can use Picard's GAPI tweak
3. If your game runs too slow now try overclocking (if you want) but do that at your own risk! If something bad happens to your ppc it's not my fault, this is just a TIP

I beg you people, please try other 3D games. As "Jellyfish from Outerspace" works also in VGA, it could happen that other 3d games also work in VGA now.

Please don't be dissapointed if the menus of the OmniGSoft games are not VGA, the game itself (the 3D graphics) are all VGA!

Have fun with that!

And now the truth about Ten Pin Bowling:
All games from OmniGSoft will have VGA 3D graphics now but the menus will stay QVGA. But Ten Pin Bowling also reduces it's bigness to only a quarter of the screen. Seems that OmniGSoft did something different with this game. I tried it first time and it rocks! It's so unbelievable great, i didn't knew that it's really completely 3D! Please OmniGSoft, whatever is different from Ten Pin Bowling to your other games, CHANGE IT! I wanna play that game in VGA!!!

Feel free to post questions, problems, or reports about games that run in VGA now!

Best Regards,
Stefan Nixdorf

PS: The games stay VGA as long as you are in "real VGA" mode, when you turn back to the "SE Vga" mode you won't have a 3D game anymore. And by the way, the "SE VGA" mode lets the game not only run in QVGA, but also the games runs about 60% slower!

PS2: I hope i have time soon to take some screenshots just for proofing that this works!

EDIT************
Changed the topic "How to make...3D!" to "How to make....VGA!" because all of them are already 3D but not VGA Laughing
