Hello,

I just downloaded DosBox Emulator for PocketPC in Version 0.63 some days ago. But I have no idea how to make it running any games. Is here anyone who knows this emulator for pocketpc and who can give me some hints how to configure it? I want to play games like Ultima VII - It works fine with my DosBox Version 0.63 for my PC, so I hope it will run on the PPC emulator as well . . .

Here's the website where I found it: http://n0p.averest-k.ru/?Welcome

Greetings from Germany . . .

Hey Bjoern! Welcome!

Okay, nice to find another human who is interested in dos and dos games.

So you like dos, i want to advice to you to try pDosBox - http://pocketwall.com/ . This is another port of dosbox for ppc. I like it more vuz it is more comfortable but i think a little bit slower than dosbox at http://n0p.averest-k.ru/ .

Also try pdosbox2 beta2 at http://www.pocketwall.com/beta2/ - i use it now and very happy.

What problems with games do you have? Now I play colonization and it is really cool.

Well, in fact the pocketwall port is faster. I'm beta-tester of his very new port, that runs the game "Pizza Snake" already very fluently Laughing . But he promised to release a version where i can set the ram, that is allowed to be used by pDosBox, to over 7 mb because all other games that i tested (NFS, Tomb Raider etc.) say that it hasn't enough ram to start.

You can set the ram to 8mb. Still it has its bugs, I'm personally having trouble with the control mapping. Fortunatly the guy is activly supporting the project and the message boards there get updated pretty often. In other words, its not a dead community, like many projects out there, and updates are being added. Frankly its the most compatible one that I've seen yet, and it beats the shit out of PocketDos, which emulated such a weak system that you couldn't run any "powerful" games. That being said, I still have failed to run Terminal Velocity, Duke3d, and Descent.
However I've gotten much closer with this port than with others. Duke3d actually starts booting up. Plus the issues with these games will be adressed in the future soon. I did manage to run Prince of Persia one and two, but as I said, I'm still working out the quirks in the control mapping. Anyway, I strongly suggest you give this port a shot.

TGM, Beta is available for everyone - both testers or no Smile

kralikba, what does happen when you try to run the emulator?

1. It was NOT avaible for everyone. Why shall Wall ask for beta-testers if it's a public beta?!

2. Perhaps he published the new version already...

Omg guys, your are very wrong. The above "guest" was me(I forgot to type in bulletcrazy in the username box, and I'm too lazy to register).
The Beta 2 is open to the public, I'm not a beta tester. Anyone who wants can go and download Beta2(and I highly recommend this). Best emulation of dos I've seen yet. The beta-testers simply post the results of what games they tried to run on what system and what happened in the forum.
Its totally open to the public, so in other words.......you're wrong.
